FED UP! Rally October 1, 2013
We are amazed, inspired and grateful, for each of you who helped make the FED UP!
Rally 2013, a reality and success. The rally was a call for immediate, coordinated and comprehensive federal action to end the epidemic of opioid addiction and overdose deaths. Born of passion and grief, we managed to mobilize a rally in three short months, that brought 600 people from across the nation, to bring change and justice. From each of you who posted a picture on our Facebook page; to our generous donors and attendees, you have already made a tremendous difference. It is no coincidence that suddenly we are seeing so many articles about prescription drug addiction crop up across the country, when previously there were little to none.
Senators Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Charles Schumer of New York, champions of our cause in the United States Senate, spoke to the crowd of their commitments to work for federal action to end the epidemic. Congressman Hal Rogers of Kentucky, a long-time advocate for our cause, also spoke of his commitment and of the need for us to continue our advocacy efforts.
More and more people are speaking out than ever before, since we had the courage to take a stand and say, “We are FED UP!” Thank you for your shining light and leading the way. Onward!
FED UP! Rally is grateful to its many generous sponsors without whom the 2013 FED UP! Rally would not have been possible.
